FADE IN.
INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY
Priyanka tiptoes' inside the room. Neha is unaware. She is busy working on the laptop.
PRIYANKA
Hi! Neha.
Neha yells. She is on her knees. She throws a cushion at her.
NEHA
(Happy and then angry)
Don't hi me. I don't want to talk to you. You are not my true friend.
INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY
Priyanka walks towards Neha, drops on the floor, keeping the cushion next to Neha.
PRIYANKA
I am sorry I could not come all these days. I was a little busy.
NEHA
(Throwing another cushion)
I don't want to hear any excuses.
INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY
Montage Start.
A short cushion fight.
Montage End.
INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY
PRIYANKA
(Brushing hair with her fingers when the fight is over)
So ... how are the things?
NEHA
( Not very happy )
Okay.
PRIYANKA
( Perturbed )
You don’t sound very pleased.
NEHA
( Still unhappy - playing with the pillow - her head down)
I don’t know. These days I feel so confused with my life.
PRIYANKA
Rohit?
NEHA
( Lifting her head / pleading eyes)
Tell me, is it old fashioned to be a virgin at 25. I mean everyone wants to experience love. ( Pause ) I have refrained so far. Even Rohit wants to ...
PRIYANKA
( A little surprised )
I think the tag "Old Fashioned" is unjustified. Virginity has nothing to do with being modern. I know some people think of it as a sign of orthodox mentality.
NEHA
( Happy and bold, now that she has started talking about her problem )
I am not so sure. I hear guys talking in the office, that they love girls who are bold ... with no inhibitions, who can take care of themselves etc etc.
PRIYANKA
( Looking a her closely )
That's pure horse shit. Losing virginity doesn't make you attractive or ... bold ... this is such a weird logic.
NEHA
( A stubborn expression )
Being a virgin doesn't make any sense either. I think Rohit is right. I should change.
Priyanka tries to stand up but Neha pulls her down.
NEHA (CONT'D)
Answer me.
PRIYANKA
(Talking tough - hard eyes)
I have no answer for your foolish questions.
NEHA
This is serious. I really want to know the answer.
INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY
Priyanka finally stands up. Neha too stands up. They look at each other.
PRIYANKA
(Soft - talking in mellowed wisdom)
Neha, look at me. I am not a virgin. All my friends know. You do. But at heart I feel ashamed and impure. First it was Jay. Then came that agonizing fight and finally the breakup. Later, the same thing happened with Siddharth. I feel so awful.
NEHA
Well, I won’t commit the same mistake you did. I love Rohit. I won't fight and split. After all my love, my body, my heart ..... My virginity belongs to him.
PRIYANKA
My answer is still no.
NEHA
You want guys to call me a woman from a dinosaur age. That is what they say when I express my feelings about VIRGINITY. Even Rohit thinks I am a bit too old fashioned.
PRIYANKA
(Holding Neha's hands)
Neha, you should take pride in your virginity. It is not something which you can just throw away.
NEHA
(Worried & Confused)
After Marriage? ( Pause ) Or maybe after I am committed?
PRIYANKA
The answer is after marriage. Even some animals first build a place and a strong understanding before mating ..
NEHA
And what if I give up my virginity before that.
PRIYANKA
It will never be a pure and a Godly experience.
Camera follows Priyanka who moves towards the exit. Her head is down. She wants Neha to take her advice seriously.
NEHA (O.S)
Thank you Priyanka. I think you are right. I will wait.
INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY
Priyanka turns around, moves in Neha's direction. She hugs her.
PRIYANKA
(Eyes moist but smiling)
I am so glad. Believe me you have taken the right decision.
FADE OUT.
